The Greatest Show on Earth
THE ANGELS – THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH
As the book The 100 Best Australian Albums pointed out, “The Angels can lay claim to being Australia’s longest-lasting band.” They have been relentlessly on the road since 1974.
It took a global pandemic to stop them. But now The Angels are itching to get back on stage – and they’re not mucking around …
Mr Damage Presents The Angels: Greatest Hits – Live In Concert – The Greatest Show On Earth.
We’re talking wall-to-wall hits – Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, No Secrets, Take A Long Line, Shadow Boxer, Marseilles, Comin’ Down, After The Rain, Face The Day, Fashion and Fame, Let The Night Roll On, We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, Mr Damage … and more.
This is it, folks, over the top!
The Angels – John and Rick Brewster, Dave Gleeson, Nick Norton and Sam Brewster – were devastated when Bluesfest was cancelled. They wanted to put something big together as a way of reconnecting with their fans. And for Angels fans, it doesn’t get any bigger or better than this – an unbelievable greatest hits show.
This is the start of a big year for The Angels. They’re celebrating some major anniversaries in 2021. It’s 45 years since their debut single, a song that’s now an indelible part of the Australian culture – Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again.
And this tour marks the 10th anniversary of Dave Gleeson joining the band, a position he treats with great reverence. “I’m definitely respectful of the fact that I’m not the creator of the Angels’ sound,” Dave says. “And I’m mindful of bringing that energy that Doc brought to the band.
“But it’s a real treat for me to be up there blasting out songs that I’ve loved since I was a kid.”
These are going to be very special shows – for the band and the fans.
“As we all know, it’s been a very tough year for the music industry and every music fan,” notes Rick Brewster. “Our relationship with the audience means everything to us.”
“It’s time to get back out there and do what we love doing,” adds John Brewster. “It’s time to rock.”
Let The Night Roll On!
